UPDATE 4:45 p.m.

The Coquihalla Highway will be closed in both directions beginning at 9 p.m. for sink hole repairs.

While northbound traffic has been closed due to the sink hole all day, DriveBC reports that the southbound lanes will be fully closed as well at 9 p.m. for "emergency sink hole repairs."

It's not clear how long the closure will last. Another update on the closure isn't expected until 10 a.m. Saturday.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m.

It appears the closure of the northbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway due to a sink hole will be lengthly.

DriveBC says the next update on the status of the highway will come at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The provincial government says there is no timeline for repairs or a reopening at this point.
