TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Visitors to Shoshone Falls will witness a dramatic transformation this weekend as Idaho Power releases additional water from upstream dams, increasing flows over the 212-foot cascade from 300 cubic feet per second to nearly 3,000 cubic feet per second.
The enhanced water release is scheduled to begin late Saturday afternoon and will continue for three to four weeks, according to Idaho Power officials. The timing offers a rare opportunity for visitors to see the falls at near-peak capacity during what is typically a low-water period.
"Don't go chasing waterfalls—unless you're headed to Shoshone Falls this weekend," Idaho Power said in its announcement.
