HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — A man was sentenced to 12 years in a state prison after shooting another man in the leg in 2023, according to a press release from the Houston County District Attorney’s Office .

The press release says Brian Clarke, 40, pled guilty to one count of aggravated assault for shooting a 67-year-old man in the leg on Sept. 24, 2023.

The District Attorney’s Office says Clarke confronted the victim at a home in Elko, Georgia. They say Clarke and the 67-year-old man got into a physical struggle, and Clarke was hit in the head, before he went to his car and grabbed a gun.

The 67-year-old tried to convince Clarke to leave the property, according to the press release, before Clarke shot him through a fence, hitting the victim in the leg.
