ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - After years of hard work, the wait is finally over. A ribbon-cutting was held Friday afternoon at the Washington Park pool in Roanoke.
Vice Mayor Terry McGuire, Parks and Recreation Director Cindy McFall and other City leadership commemorated the opening with remarks, before cutting the ribbon.
The new pool’s design brings amenities such as a lazy river, slides, a shallow water feature area, and lap lanes that were identified as top priorities by local residents during extensive community engagement meetings.
The pool will officially open to the public June 7, 2025.
