(KRON) – What happens when someone from France moves to the Bay Area? They win awards for croissants.

Danville-based French bakery Mansion Benoit’s croissant outperformed more than 300 competitors in the San Francisco Best Croissant competition.

The owner of the bakery, Benoit Vialle, moved to the Bay Area more than two decades ago, according to the bakery’s website. Vialle and his family opened the bakery in early 2024.

Baguettes, gluten-free, challah and focaccia are some of the breads the bakery sells. Patrons do have a surplus of indulgent treats to choose from, such as maple cake, éclairs, cinnamon brioche and more.
