(KRON) -- Oakland first responders joined volunteers to build 100 beds for children in need, organized by the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Police officers and fire crews participated in the building process Friday and will help deliver the beds across the community this weekend.
Families had the opportunity to sign up online for the free beds earlier this month. Sleep in Heavenly Peace works with volunteers to provide beds to kids across Alameda County. The organization is always grateful for donations.
