BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to reports of a white powder substance that was dumped across multiple southbound lanes of l-110, south of Airline Hwy near the Weller Ave exit.
The Hazardous Materials unit of BRFD conducted tests on the substance and concluded that it was sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda.
Officials said that there is no threat to public safety.
The interstate is expected to remain closed while cleanup efforts are underway.
