A decrease in passengers traveling through Houston’s airports this year reflect an overall downturn in airport traffic across the state.

Domestic travel through Houston’s two major airports showed an overall 2.1% decline in March, while international travel through the airports represented a 0.3% dip, according to data compiled by the Houston First Corporation .

Jim Szczesniak, aviation director for the City of Houston, told Houston Public Media that the Houston Airports System is closely monitoring the trends.
