NASA Solar System Ambassador Dr. Neil Farber, MD, led an engaging discussion on the search for life in outer space, focusing on both intelligent and other forms of life. Combining science, technology, remote sensing, and even space travel, NASA is productively probing the universe, no small task given that our Milky Way Galaxy has 300 billion stars and there are 100 billion other galaxies in outer space.
The search for intelligent life is based around radio telescopes sending signals into space and listening for replies via sequenced, coded, or timed signals indicating a potential source of extraterrestrial intelligent life. Thus far, there has been no direct evidence of intelligent life elsewhere.
For evidence of other forms of life beyond our Solar System, Dr. Farber indicated that NAS
