Progress is being made on wildfires thanks to Alberta teams and crews from Canada and the U.S.; however, several out-of-control wildfires continue to burn.
While some communities are allowing residents to return, evacuation orders remain in many other places. Warm, dry and windy conditions across many parts of the province continue to elevate the fire danger and are driving active fire behaviour.
Current situation (as of 4pm, June 6) • There are 57 wildfires currently burning across Alberta in the Forest Protection Area, and three mutual aid fires. 22 are classified as out of control, 10 are being held and 25 are under control.
