HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - A bear sighting in Huntington has been circulating on social media.

Kenya Green said she spotted the bear in a residential area near Hal Greer Boulevard on Wednesday.

Green said she took a video for proof. That video can be found in the story above.

Colin Carpenter, black bear project leader for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, said it is not uncommon to see a bear in a residential area anymore and there are steps you can take to protect your property.

These tips include taking in your trash and not leaving food outside.
