QUINCY (WGEM) - On Friday, the John Wood Community College Board of Trustees appointed Josh Welker as interim president during a special board meeting.

Welker is JWCC’s Dean of Business Services and Institutional Effectiveness.

Welker will be taking over for current JWCC President Dr. Bryan Renfro. Renfro took a position at Eastern Iowa Community College as chancellor.

Welker will begin his role as president starting on July 1. The board hopes to find its eighth president by late fall.

Welker has worked at JWCC since 2009.
