EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A raging fire broke out at a home on Greenfield Drive in Evansville’s Arcadian Acres neighborhood on June 3rd.
For Jennifer Shadrick, it was life-changing.
The fire destroyed 32 years of memories for Shadrick, who grew up in that house, and now lived there with her own children.
“All I saw was orange,” Shadrick tells 44News. “It moved through the house, from the attic, very quickly.”
She and her oldest son got the kids, the dogs, and Shadrick’s 72-year-old mother out of the house before it was too late.
Thankfully, first responders arrived soon.
“They were absolutely amazing. The first responders who were here were a godsend,” Shadrick says.
