NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The heat will be the main story heading in to the weekend. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday will top out in the low to mid 90s for a good portion of the area, especially I-10 and northward. Overnight lows will stay warm with mid to upper 70s. Humidity will stay elevated as well.
Heat index values will top out around 105 each afternoon which means you want to stay hydrated and try to avoid being out during the peak heating of the day.
Each day look for mostly sunny conditions and then a few daytime heating showers popping up by later in the afternoon. This activity will be spotty but as usual we have a bit better chance in the immediate New Orleans area along I-10.
