BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Botetourt County held a ribbon-cutting Friday for new pickleball courts at Blue Ridge Park .
The tennis and basketball courts were once in need of repair. Now, the courts are being given new life.
Some members from Performance Pickleball broke a sweat on the new courts, teaching others how to play the game.
Parks and Rec Director Victor Morales says he’s excited to make the project a reality.
“Now that we have this tennis-, pickleball-, basketball-renovated options, there’s baseball fields, soccer fields; there’s really... playgrounds and something for everybody. So, I just encourage the public to come out here, explore the parks, see what’s in your backyard.”
Blue Ridge Park is open dawn to dusk, year-round.
