Elliot Easton , the guitarist for ‘70s/’80s hitmakers the Cars, wished his friends and followers on Facebook a “great summer” on Friday, June 6 with a mashup that combined the design of one of the band’s iconic album covers with the classic animated series The Flintstones.
In the spoof, the Cars second album, 1979’s Candy-O , is remade Flintstones style, with the band renamed “The Carstones” and the album’s title switched to Wilma-O . The iconic original album artwork by pin-up artist Alberto Vargas now features Flintstones character Wilma lying back on a foot-powered Flintstones vehicle.
