Two children were killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on Louisiana 311 in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana State Police said.

The wreck happened just after 4 p.m. near Fellowship Lane. Investigators said Cherri Breaux was heading south on the highway with three children in her 1999 Toyota Camry when she tried to turn left into a driveway and was struck by an oncoming northbound 2023 Kenworth truck.

Breaux sustained minor injuries; another child suffered moderate injuries, and a 6-year-old and a 12-year-old died in a hospital from their severe injuries. The Kenworth's driver was wearing a seat belt and didn't get injured. Nobody in the Toyota had been wearing seat belts, troopers said.
