Park City High School senior Sutton Hull’s dad only speaks to her in Spanish.
He grew up in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Like many Latter-day Saints, he served a mission overseas as a young adult, specifically in Argentina, where he developed a passion for the language and the many cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.
So when Hull and her siblings were born, her father made a decision: He would only speak to them in Spanish to teach them the importance of being multilingual and appreciating other cultures.
