In a rare and long-awaited move, federal agents stood alongside tribal leaders and family Friday at Little Bighorn College to offer a reward for information in the case of Sa’Wade Birdinground, a 13-year-old Crow girl missing since Oct. 6.

After an opening prayer and a short awareness walk, Mehtab Syed, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s regional field office, addressed the gathered crowd to affirm the FBI’s commitment to bringing Sa’Wade Birdinground home.

“Eight months is an incomprehensible amount of time for any family to be without their child,” Syed said. “For eight months, Sa’Wade’s family have had to know life without her. For eight months, they’ve been waiting for answers.”
