There are all kinds of reasons the news that Hamilton Tiger-Cats general manager Ted Goveia is battling what he calls a “serious form of cancer” might hit you.
As a human, it’s scary. We all know someone who’s been down this path. The fact that he told Steve Milton on the team’s website that the disease has spread makes it even scarier. Sure, many of us know folks who’ve beaten this, so there’s plenty of room for optimism. Still, it’s worrying.
Some fans might not want to admit it out loud right now because it could sound cold, but they hope this won’t affect their team heading into the season.
