BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear made a stop in Bowling Green on Friday urging the public to get behind the idea of universal pre-K.
Over 70 counties in Kentucky are childcare deserts, making things challenging for young families. Beshear and several other speakers spoke highly of the move, listing many benefits to Kentuckians both in the present and the future.
The offering of free and affordable childcare at four years of age will allow people to get back into the workforce that year, bringing in more money for that family, building a strong foundation for children going into the public school system and hopefully catching developmental delays and various needs that could go unattended.
