SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Summer activities and events are in full swing across San Angelo and this summer, more visitors are wanting to come see for themselves. Jeremy Bartz at Destination Marketing with the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce says this is a welcomed sight as tourism is on the rise this summer compared to previous summers.

"Last summer it was a little bit different... we did not see as much during 2024 as what we had seen even in 2023 during the summer...what we are seeing today is an uptick in travel we are seeing more and more people are getting out they are venturing further from home than just 50-70 miles out..." Bartz said.

He also says the increase in visitors can be credited to people wanting to come spend time by the Concho River or out at Lake Nas
