CONWAY, Ark. – Hundreds of boys and girls, all in orange, listened to the message of ending gun violence presented by the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission on Friday.

The commission engaged with young people and the community Friday at the Faulkner County Boys and Girls Club. The MLK Jr. Commission said it’s a unifying day promoting peace and nonviolence, specifically aimed at ending gun violence by wearing the color orange.

The children participated in activities and listened to insights from the MLK Jr. Commission about nonviolence.

“Orange means hey, you know, look at me, pay attention to me; that brightness that orange brings a lot of seriousness and a serious issue of something that we need to talk about, which is gun violence,” said MLK Jr. Commission Executive Director Dushun Sca
