MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Gamers across the country have been flocking to stores following the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 — even here in North Dakota.
Video game stores throughout the state have seen a new wave of customers since the gaming system was released on Thursday. Nintendo's first new console in over eight years retails at $449.99.
Employees at a local Minot Best Buy say this week's release is the biggest one in quite some time.
"It's a big deal, because we haven't really had a console launch since really before COVID happened," Best Buy Minot General Manager Zach Long said. "I started as a gaming specialist at Best Buy in 2011. Seeing it come back to what it was fifteen years ago was, it was pretty fun."
