GRETNA, Va. (WSET) — The community of Gretna is mourning the loss of a cherished local landmark, Jack's Quick Snack, which was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday.

The restaurant, known for its burgers, shakes and hot dogs, was more than just a place to eat; it was a social hub where memories were made.

Jack's Quick Snack was founded 53 years ago by Shirley and the late Jack Shelton. Their nephew, Gary Pickeral, who helped build the restaurant from the ground up, expressed his devastation at the loss.
