LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock residents could be seeing an increase in the cost of sewer service.
The Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority is proposing a rate increase to help cover the cost of maintenance and improvements to its sewer system.
LRWRA is the sanitary service provider for the city. They have a plan to improve their infrastructure over the next 10 years but to do so, rates will increase by 7.2% for the next five years.
During a recent community meeting, LRWRA proposed the 7.2% rate increase for customers.
“That’s not fair to anybody,” Tatiana Carter, who lives in Little Rock, said.
Ernest Walton said, “it’s not too bad, but I really wouldn’t want it with the economy like it is now.”
