Syracuse, N.Y. — A Syracuse man was found guilty of killing a woman by stabbing her 38 times before disposing of the bloody knife in a university area trash can.

Maurice Delee , 48, was convicted of second-degree murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He faces 25 years to life in prison.

The jury found that Delee entered an abandoned home at 1511 First North St., where Felicia I. Davis , 29, was sheltering, and stabbed her repeatedly in a bedroom with a large kitchen knife on Oct. 25, 2023.

Delee fled through a back window as Davis tried to escape the home through the front door, which had been bolted by a property manager earlier that day to keep out squatters, prosecutors said.
