POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) - Dozens of people graduated From from the 15th Circuit Intervention Court.

A graduation ceremony was held in Poplarville Friday for 60 members of the 2025 Class.

Intervention Court is a three-year program that helps eligible defendants become drug-free and help prepare them for the workplace.

“The underlying theme behind it is to develop discipline,” said 15th Circuit Court Senior Judge Prentiss Harrell. “Many of the people have not had discipline in their lives for a long time. These people did not have to be incarcerated and they saved millions of dollars, literally, and taxpayers did not have to pay for them being incarcerated.”

Since Intervention Court was established in the 15th Circuit in 2007, more than 550 people have graduated from the program.
