NORFOLK, Va. — The Keyshawn Davis-Edwin De Los Santos fight has been canceled after Norfolk's Davis failed to make weight at a weigh-in earlier today. He was four pounds heavier than what would qualify him.

The fight, scheduled for Saturday night at Scope Arena, will now feature a new main lightweight event between Abdullah Mason, unbeaten as of yet, and Jeremia Nakathila, from Namibia.

“I outgrew the weight,” Davis said following Friday’s weigh-in. “Been making this weight for over four years now. I tried… I was up late last night trying to make the weight.”

This also means Davis will lose his title of WBO Lightweight Champion, which he captured in February.

Davis' brother Kelvin's fight will now be elevated to co-feature, against Nahir Albright, in the junior welterweight category.
