aldermen are backing changes to rules involving food safety inspections at Manchester restaurants.
According to deputy city health director Phil Alexakos , Chapter 117 Food Service Establishments of the Manchester Code of Ordinances — which governs all food protection activities in Manchester — was last revised in 2011.
“Our goal is to amend and improve our Food Protection Program by revising this ordinance to a more recent update of the Food and Drug Administration’s Model Food Code,” Alexakos says in a memo to aldermen. “By adopting this code, we will be using rules, inspection report forms and inspection methods that are being used across the rest of New Hampshire and the country.”
