CLEVELAND -- Jeremy Peña had three hits for the second consecutive game and scored from second base on an infield single in the fifth inning to spark the Astros to a 4-2 win over the Guardians in the series opener Friday night at Progressive Field.

The Astros’ aggressive baserunning in the fifth -- Peña scoring from second on Jose Altuve’s infield hit, and Altuve then scoring from first on Christian Walker’s bloop hit -- helped stake lefty starter Colton Gordon to a 3-0 lead. He held the Guardians to one run and seven hits in five innings for his first Major League win.
