OLYPHANT, Pa. — Here at Better Health Pharmacy & Wellness on the Burke Bypass in Olyphant, workers are already fielding calls from Rite-Aid customers looking to move their prescriptions.

You'd think that would be good news for the Lackawanna County pharmacy's owner, Eric Pusey.

Not necessarily, he said.

“Is this good news for community and independent pharmacies?” Pusey said. “We don't know. I've been telling people it could be our savior or, potentially, our demise.”

Pusey is not sure his pharmacy will be able to handle the influx of customers but they will try their best.

"The rite aid closure is going to have a tremendous impact on us as pharmacists, community pharmacists… it's our patients who are really going to be suffering,” Pusey said. “It's going to create what they call, '
