RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - “Operation Safe Summer” is now in full swing, as the Richmond Police Department works to cut down on gun violence, especially among the city’s youth.
However, some of the programs, like “Late Night Gym,” got off to a shaky start with what appears to be a disconnect in communication between Richmond Police and the City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities (PRCF).
“PRCF is bringing back “Late Night Gym,” which will begin this Friday [June 6] and operate from 6 – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings through Labor Day weekend at the Gill Center, Southside Community Center, and Bellemeade Community Center,” RPD said in a news release on Monday.
Southside Community Center said it would delay its late-night gym hours by a week because it did not
