JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Hundreds of people gathered at Johnson City's King Commons Park for the annual Blue Plum Festival, and the weather cooperated for a good part of Friday evening.

It's an event that showcases local vendors and musicians and gives people in the area the perfect way to start summer.

From music to food and craft vendors, Blue Plum has been a sign of summer since 1999.

Jared Jones of Hampton is a first-time visitor to the festival.

"I'm enjoying it," Jared Jones said. "It's really fun. There's a lot of good vendors out here. It's got good food."

Whether it's a first-timer or a longtime fan like Brittany Jones, the festival has food, homemade goods, and music for everyone.
