The Longhorns crushed Texas Tech 10-4 in Game 3 to claim the school's first ever national championship in the sport.
The Longhorns threw Teagan Kavan in Game 3 to matchup with Texas Tech's NiJaree Canady, who was starting her third consecutive game.
It was clear that Canady, who had presented problems for the Longhorns in games 1 and 2, was dealing with fatigue from the start, and the Longhorns took advantage, scoring five runs on five hits in the first inning to take an immediate stranglehold on the game that would not be overcome. Canady was pulled after just one inning of work.
