SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Shasta County deputies arrested a man after he led authorities on a high-speed chase on Highway 299E.

According to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office, 41-year-old Zachary Paeyeneers was wanted on a felony domestic violence and robbery warrant.

On Thursday at around 12:02 p.m., deputies spotted Paeyeneers riding a motorcycle in the Bella Vista area and attempted a traffic stop.

Instead of stopping, authorities say that Paeyeneers accelerated through a construction zone, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour as he drove into oncoming traffic, and showed disregard for public safety.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office says that the pursuit was called off due to safety concerns, but deputies later found the motorcycle in the area of Oak Run Road and Buzzard Roost Ro
