Floyd, N.Y. — A driver died Friday after a vehicle went off road and hit a tree in Oneida County, troopers said.

Around 10:32 a.m., state police responded to the single-vehicle crash on Route 49 in the town of Floyd, according to a news release from Trooper Robert Girard, a spokesperson for the State Police.

When troopers arrived, they found a man had been ejected from the vehicle, Girard said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.

Girard said the vehicle went off the road on the south shoulder and hit a tree.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, he said.
