TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - There have been 14 named wildfires in southern Arizona already this season.

The troubling news is that eight were confirmed to have been caused by humans, while four others were likely human-caused. In fact, only two were caused by Mother Nature.

On Friday, June 6, the Coronado National Forest announced that prosecutors are hoping to charge the person or persons responsible for the Jacobson, Redington, Stronghold, and Cody fires.

The Cody Fire was by far the most destructive one this year in our area. It burned more than 1,300 acres and destroyed five homes while damaging another. At least eight structures were burned. The investigation is ongoing, but officials have said it was human-caused.
