MILWAUKEE -- The Padres pushed across a run on three singles in the third inning and Manny Machado homered in the eighth to give the Padres a 2-0 win over the Brewers on Friday night at American Family Field.

Tyler Wade led off the third with an infield single off Brewers starter Chad Patrick and moved to third on Martín Maldonado’s base hit. Two batters later, Luis Arraez slapped a single to left that drove in Wade.

Machado’s home run, his ninth of the season and 351st of his career, off Grant Anderson leading off the eighth pushed the Padres’ lead to 2-0.
