Back in 2017, Megan Kraft was a sophomore backup outside hitter and defensive specialist at Torrey Pines High School.
She played in some key rotations that season for Brennan Dean’s CIF Southern California Regional finalist, showing off libero-like skills at 5-foot-9.
But the rest of her prep career and four-time national championship college career at USC, she was known for her blocking and attacking.
Now playing behind veteran Terese Cannon, Kraft is proving herself to be one of the top defensive players in the beach game.
Representing the L.A. Launch, Kraft and Cannon got off to a slow start then hit the accelerator with an outstanding transition game to go with a creative offense in a 15-11, 15-8 win over the Dallas Dream duo of Kylie Deberg and Hailey Harward on Day 1 of the AVP L
