CHARLESTON, W.Va. —Inside the confines of a supercharged GoMart Ballpark on Friday night, Morgantown used an explosive second inning and a shutdown performance from relief ace Judd Messerly to seize a spot in the Class AAAA state baseball championship game with a 7-5 win over George Washington.

“We were the visiting team if you saw the fans they brought today and their fans did a great job of bringing a ton of energy and I’m just really proud of my guys in how they stayed focused and stayed in the ballgame. I just can’t compliment them enough,” head coach Pat Sherald said.
