BELMONT, N.Y. — Allegany County issued a state of emergency on Friday night, citing dangerous flooding and road conditions , putting in place both a Travel Ban and a Travel Advisory for different areas until further notice.
This comes after a Flash Flood Warning was issued for parts of Cattaraugus and Allegany counties until 11:45 p.m. Friday.
The state of emergency was rescinded at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, but a Travel Ban remained in place around the Cuba Lake area — including the Abbott Road, Rawson Road, County Road 17, County Road 20, and North Branch Road — until noon.
Areas around Cuba, Friendship, and Alfred have seen some of the worst of the flooding, according to Storm Team 2.
The Town of Cuba declared a state of emergency at 4 p.m. Saturday "due to widespread and hazardous
