CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Cleveland Heights Mayor Kahlil Seren is hard at work seeking a second term in office, just days after City Council passed a motion of no confidence against him.
On Friday, Seren was seen gathering signatures along Lee Road in an effort to qualify for the September primary. He needs at least 342 valid signatures from residents by Wednesday to appear on the ballot.
"You never go into this with some high level of confidence," Seren said, "because you know that, ultimately, you don't get to make the decision."
The mayor has been under scrutiny amid allegations that his wife, Natalie McDaniel, made a number of antisemitic and homophobic comments both in and outside City Hall. This, coupled with other accusations , led to City Council passing a 6-1 resolution r
