A former West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) paramedic has been struck off after he was convicted of child sex offences.

Craig Carnell had planned to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex, but he was in fact speaking with an undercover police officer.

He was subsequently arrested and later convicted of attempted sexual communication with a child, attempting to meet a boy under 16 years of age following grooming and attempting to arrange/facilitate penetrative sexual activity with a child.

Carnell, who was based in Worcestershire, was jailed for 28 months in March last year.
