NUUANU, Hawaii (Island News) -- The man who recorded a woman undressing in the bathroom at the Korean Consulate this past fall was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Thursday for invasion of privacy and his stash of child pornography.

Hanmin Choi, 25, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on June 5, 2025 for events that took place eight months ago . Choi was arrested in Oct. 2024 for filming his coworker in the bathroom. His coworkers found a hidden cellphone camera resulting in the violation of privacy offenses he faced.

Choi was convicted and found guilty of four counts of first-degree violation of privacy charges.

Choi's incarceration includes a second-degree promoting child abuse charge. Days after he was arrested in early October, he was found to have 30 plus images of child pornog
