CHARLESTON – Hedgesville’s impressive playoff run came to a close on Friday evening in the Class AAAA state baseball tournament, as the fourth-seeded Eagles fell 5-3 to top-seeded Hurricane.

Early on, it was Hedgesville (22-11) looking to jump on top, as it loaded the bases with just one out.

Landon Pence started things off with a single to left field, which was followed by two more singles from Mason Elliott and Trenton Knieriem to load the bases. However, the rally ended when the Redskins turned a double play.
