New figures suggest over half of UK drivers are flouting the Highway Code due to widespread driving myths. Conducted by LKQ Euro Car Parts, a survey set out to debunk the most prevalent misconceptions among UK drivers about road rules and the possible consequences of such misbeliefs.

With a staggering 58% of drivers transgressing the Highway Code because of these myths, exposing them to fines reaching £1,000, experts at LKQ Euro Car Parts have highlighted the top five errors and the truths behind them reports the Express .

Almost half (45%) of motorists admit to sporadically flashing their high beams as a courteous signal, with some even boasting about it on social media. This is typically done to permit someone to merge from a junction or to acknowledge another driver's politeness.
