French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Greenland on 15 June together with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen in a display of "European unity" amid US threats to annex the mineral-rich Arctic territory.
The leaders will debate Arctic security during the visit together with the premier of the semi-autonomous Danish territory, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, according to a press release from Frederiksen's office.
They will also discuss e conomic development, climate change, and energy, Copenhagen said.
"It has been uplifting to experience the great international support for Greenland and the Kingdom in the difficult foreign policy situation in recent months," Frederiksen said.
