Cambridge is now home to the second smallest movie theatre in the world.

Leigh Cooney, the owner of The Little Prince Micro-Cinema, has opened his second location in the city’s Gaslight District. His first location in Stratford holds the Guinness World Record for being the smallest purpose-built cinema in the world.

Now, his new theatre is just a few square feet bigger — but still only seats 12 people.

Cooney started with a small gift shop in Stratford.

At the back of the shop, he had a little room where he held art shows and short film competitions.

“We thought it’d be fun to do something very small, a little screening room,” he said.

That idea quickly turned into a real movie theatre.
