Partick Library is a staple for many in the west end and, this week, the historic community hub celebrates its 100th year.

The library marked the centenary on Thursday (June 5) with an event which looked back at the history and how the place has changed over the years.

These days, the Glasgow Life facility is more than just a place to read books; it's a resource anyone can visit, a place to socialise with others in the west end community. However, 100 years ago , the local landmark was very different. The library would have been a place to be on your best behaviour, rather than somewhere to go for fun.
